Instrument dimensions stay local. No CAD or template is read.

Bass/treble scale, string count, fret count, neutral fret, spreads, and margin are calculated only on the current page. FretFan does not upload instrument drawings, connect to CNC/laser equipment, or read existing templates.

Ideal fret geometry, not manufacturing approval

The tool uses 1−2^(−fret/12) for twelve-tone equal-temperament positions, linearly interpolates scale across strings, and aligns the neutral fret to produce endpoints and drawing angles. It supports 2–16 strings, 1–36 frets, and 200–1,500 mm scales. The neutral fret defines drawing alignment only. It does not add string stiffness, fretting stretch, nut/saddle compensation, fret-crown width, slot width, fingerboard radius, wood movement, machining tolerance, or structural judgment.

The millimetre SVG still needs an independent scale check

Refreshing or closing discards inputs. The SVG declares physical dimensions in millimetres, while CSV contains edge positions, angle, and remaining scale for each fret; browsers, drivers, or printers may still scale output, so verify 100% with a known ruler before slotting. Reports and optional local checkpoints read the visible summary. Unreleased instrument dimensions may be design-sensitive, so review them before sharing.

Advertising and local preferences

This page uses Google AdSense Auto Ads. Google may use cookies or similar technologies under its policies. .miluland.com domain cookies sync language, theme, high contrast, a six-item recent-tools list, and up to 16 favorite tool IDs across MiluLand sites. These values never contain inputs, files, or results; the current site also keeps a local compatibility copy.

Local report studio

The report studio reads only the workbench’s currently visible result summary for local preview, Markdown copy, JSON download, printing, and a SHA-256 fingerprint. It never reads input controls or original files and is not persisted unless you choose to download it.

Optional local checkpoints

Only when you explicitly choose Save does the tool write the visible result summary, time, and optional short label to this site’s browser storage, up to five entries. Imported files and input-control contents are never stored; you can export, restore same-tool checkpoints, or clear them at any time. Imports are limited to 128KB and validate the tool, timestamp, summary, and label of up to 80 characters.
